Our Beliefs

We are guided entirely by the Bible — God's written word — and what it teaches about life, worship, and our future.

A Faith Rooted in Scripture

Jehovah's Witnesses base every aspect of their beliefs and practices on the Bible. We believe the Bible is God's inspired word and the most reliable guide for understanding life's most important questions.

Our beliefs are not based on human tradition or church councils, but on careful study of the Bible in its entirety. We use the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, available in over 150 languages.

Core Beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses

We believe in one Almighty God whose personal name is Jehovah (Psalm 83:18). He is the Creator of all things and the source of all wisdom, love, and justice. We believe Jehovah has a distinct personality and that he invites us to have a personal relationship with him through prayer and study of his word.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the appointed King of God's Kingdom. He came to earth as a perfect human, died as a ransom sacrifice for humanity's sins, and was resurrected by God. We honor Jesus and follow his teachings, recognizing him as our Lord and Savior — though distinct from Jehovah God (John 14:28).

We believe the entire Bible — all 66 books — is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, correcting, and setting things straight (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). The Bible is our primary guide for all aspects of life and worship. We encourage everyone to read it for themselves and to ask us any questions.

We believe God's Kingdom is a real heavenly government, with Jesus Christ as King, that will soon bring an end to all suffering, injustice, and death on earth (Daniel 2:44). The Kingdom will transform the earth into a peaceful paradise where people can enjoy life without sickness, war, or death (Revelation 21:3, 4).

We believe that the dead are not conscious — they are asleep in death (Ecclesiastes 9:5). However, God promises a resurrection, where billions of people who have died will be brought back to life on a paradise earth (Acts 24:15; John 5:28, 29). This brings tremendous comfort to those who have lost loved ones.

We believe the family unit was established by God and is to be treated with great respect. We apply Bible principles to strengthen marriages, raise children with good values, and support elderly relatives. Family worship and Bible study together are central to our congregation's life (Ephesians 5:22–6:4).

Jehovah's Witnesses remain politically neutral, refraining from involvement in political parties or government affairs. We obey the law of the land and respect all government authorities (Romans 13:1). We also respect people of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds, and we do not engage in any form of discrimination.

We strive to live by the highest ethical standards — honesty, respect, kindness, and care for others. We avoid behavior that is harmful to ourselves or others, guided by biblical principles. Our goal is not perfection, but sincere effort to reflect godly qualities in everyday life (Micah 6:8).
